Community Sponsorship

Join us and become our welcome ambassadors!

Community Sponsorship is when a community group works together to welcome refugees by assisting in the process of resettlement and integration. Community sponsorship can either be resettlement-led or community-led.

At CWS Jersey City, co-sponsors are expected to fulfill 8 out of 16 core services in 7 Support Areas, which are:

  • Housing
  • Transportation
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • Cultural Adjustment
  • Employment and Finances
  • Health and Mental Health
  • Education

We worked with 11 co-sponsor groups in 2022, assisting a total of 62 newcomers!
